WORTHY CAUSES

A MESSAGE FROM OUR JOINT CHARITIES: OXFAM, GREENPEACE AND WATERAID

Hi – it’s great to be here! We are the festival’s three partner charities Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid.  During the Festival we provide a range of activities, from stewarding to loo cleaning and litter picking, to hosting incredible talent in the Greenpeace Field and selling sustainable merchandise such as water bottles.  All of this raises a considerable amount for worthy causes.

Not only does the festival provide a platform for raising awareness and amplifying our campaigns year round, but Michael and Emily also kindly donate more than £2m every year to support us, as well as many local worthy causes.

This year, we’re returning again collectively. with a message about climate change.

The climate crisis is affecting us all.  Extreme weather such as severe floods and drought are already destroying homes, livelihoods, and lives on an unprecedented scale. There’s no hiding from the urgency of the challenges we face today. The crises we face are deeply interlinked. Climate breakdown is caused by everything from burning fossil fuels to a lack of ocean protection to Indigenous People’s forest homes being torn down for industrial farming. Around the world, communities least responsible for climate change, are suffering the most.

Millions of us are united by our fierce passion for a green, healthy and fair world. Our hope brings us together.

Brilliant, tireless activists and inspiring communities are resisting, pursuing life-saving solutions – there is hope for a better tomorrow. Together with you, organisations such as Greenpeace, Oxfam and WaterAid, and the communities we work with can make a huge difference.

Hope is powerful, but our hope does more than just unite us. It’s a refusal to give in. The solutions our world needs already exist, from renewable energy to ocean sanctuaries, to sustainable water and sanitation projects that can exist in areas most vulnerable to climate challenges.

We’re making it happen – and we’re so glad you’re by our side. Find us onsite at the Meeting Point or by the Pyramid Stage. We can’t wait to see you in the fields.

Ever wanted to perform at the largest outdoor music and arts festival in the world? Well now’s your chance!

The Meeting Place stage is the place for budding artists and musicians to share their talent with the world. The mic will be open from 10am on Thursday through to Sunday evening. Just turn up and book your 10-15 minute performance slot.

We want to hear from singer-songwriters, rappers, poets, comedy acts and everyone in between! There’ll even be a chance for karaoke fans to belt out a tune or two with Karaoke Fever, so sign up and show us what you’ve got.

Please note: Acoustic performances only. There will be basic amplification but no backline. You must already have a Glastonbury weekend ticket and your instrument with you on the day. Find us at The Meeting Place, on the corner of Alfred’s Markets, opposite Williams Green, close to the T-shirt and Info stall.
