One of the most frequent requests the Festival receives is for work placements, which unfortunately are usually not feasible. The numbers employed directly by the Festival are relatively small and most Festival staff are only on site for a limited time through the year. At a time of high pressure, there is little opportunity to advise and supervise someone learning the job.

If you would like to work in event management, stage management, rigging and staging, sound, lighting, electrics, plumbing, event security, tent contractors and so on, the Festival also cannot really help you. Many, if not all, of these specialists are employed by different event management companies that have established, experienced crew who return to work at Glastonbury year on year – as do most of the organisers running performance fields.
